How to Prepare Corn on the Cob

Corn on the cob is always a summertime favorite paired with our favorite BBQ grub; burgers, chicken, steak, seafood. Basically there are three ways to cook corn on the cob:

  • Boil it
  • Grill it
  • Microwave it

Butter Boiled Corn on the Cob Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 ears of corn on the cob (can break in half to make smaller portions)
  • Stick of butter
  • 1 cup milk

Directions

  1. Fill a large pot about halfway with water. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Add milk and butter.
  3. Add corn and reduce heat. Simmer corn for 6 to 8 minutes Remove corn from cooking liquid and its ready to serve.

    Cooking and Serving Tips

    Corn will come out of the pot full of flavor! No need to lather with butter because the corn will already have a rich buttery taste from the milk butter bath. Add a lil salt and/or a dash of pepper, maybe even some parmesan cheese if you please. Enjoy!

    It only took 13 minutes in total (five minutes to prep and eight minutes to cook) which was time well spent waiting for this unbelievably fresh and flavorful buttered corn. This is one of the quickest methods for cooking corn, not to mention the easiest – you only need two very simple ingredients to completely elevate your corn on the cob experience.

    You can throw it on the grill for 1-3 minutes for a final touch of the grill mark if desired.
